Fixation is the most critical phase of any histology study. Under- or over-fixation will lead to sample damage that is often unrecoverable.

The individual epitopes that antibodies bind to may be preserved or masked by fixatives in an unpredictable and sometimes irretrievable fashion.

To deal with this problem, Histotech has formulated a range of fixatives for use in different situations and recommends the use of a multiple-preservation strategy to mitigate the risk of labelling failure.
